About Your Trainer

Rebecca (Bex) had VSG on 1/16/21 and has lost over 180 pounds through healthy eating and exercise. With degrees in Psychology and Sociology and a background in addictions counseling and trauma-informed care, Rebecca is uniquely situated to help bariatric patients, gym newbies, and those with disordered eating navigate getting back in touch with their bodies, regaining health, and finding balance.

Rebecca has always loved being active and played sports as a teenager before gaining weight. She always remained active but the weight and previous injuries limited her. After VSG surgery, she found that reconnecting with her body and getting active again was a challenge and she wished that she’d had guidance in that endeavor. So she decided that helping others tackle that challenge was something she wanted to do.

In March of 2022, she got her personal trainer certification through NASM. Her goal is to help others who have gone through similar things to her, succeed. She specializes in bariatric surgery but has a passion for helping anyone looking to better their health.

How this works

Somewhere along my own fitness journey, I realized that I wanted a personal trainer who really understood eating disorders, relearning how to connect with your body, healing from trauma, someone body positive, and who understood bariatric surgery and the unique challenges that come with it. So I set out to fill that role.

My goal if you choose to train with me is: Help you navigate the confusing road of habit setting, exercise, and bariatric surgery to bring you a personalized program and actionable steps to achieve your goal! I want to help you connect with your body meaningfully and discover (or rediscover) your love for your body and fitness! I offer advice, accountability, and support in your fitness journey, whether you are just getting started, have been here a while, or are pre-op or post-op bariatrics.

Why hire a trainer?

I can help you make sense of the general and often confusing information given to you and help you make a solid and achievable plan to reach your goals. I will educate you on how to exercise, what exercises to do, and how to progress and take care of your body along the way. Confused and feeling lost? It’s my job to help you stay on track!

I will support you, teach you, guide you, learn from you, and help you find your footing in exercise in the chaotic aftermath of bariatric surgery, or wherever you are on your weight loss or health journey. And if you have further questions I cannot answer, I can point you in the right direction to get reliable information.

This program is about YOU and your goals. You decided to change YOUR life. You did this surgery. We can do that together! We will go at your pace and ensure that you do things safely, effectively, and at your level. Wherever you are starting from, we can get you where you want to go. I want you to live your best life post-op!

What I want from you:

  •  Tell me about yourself and your goals and what you want to accomplish

  • Commit to consistency for at least one month- let me show you how I can help you change

  • Check in weekly about your progress and how I can adjust things for you

  • See yourself making real tangible changes and progress!

    What’s included:

  • Free Consultation

  • One-on-one training (Daily, weekly, or monthly)

  • Personalized workout plans

  • Access to NASM’s Edge app (and videos) for tracking

  • Text/email support

  • Goal identification and a plan of action

  • Supportive Facebook group to ask questions

  • Workouts from beginner to advanced

  • Pre-planned “emergency” or at-home workouts

  • Macros/general nutritional coaching (and in accordance with your bariatric surgeon’s plan)

  • And so much more!
