About Me

After trying and failing to lose weight and keep it off for well over a decade, I finally decided I needed help. I went to therapy and did the trauma work. I turned my entire attitude and approach to eating and taking care of my body around. I started taking care of ME. And finally, I had VSG surgery on 1/16/21.

Since my surgery, I have been in recovery from my eating disorder, managed to lose over 180 pounds through ditching diets, utilizing my tool, healing my relationship with myself and food, and, of course, exercising.

And I’m not done yet! I’m in maintenance, and I’ve had one round of plastic surgery to remove excess skin and fix muscle separation. I feel I have a wealth of knowledge to share to help others achieve their goals.

I have always been active and loved exercise, and since surgery, that love has only gotten stronger. Exercise is a great coping mechanism, helps keep my heart and mind healthy, and reduces my overall stress levels. It has also had the added benefit of helping me achieve things I honestly never thought I’d be able to do again, like snowboarding, kayaking, backpacking, and biking. Exercise and building healthy habits have been key to my success, and I know it can be the key for others.
